A
An article that made Germany accept blame for the beginning of the war.

What were the restrictions set on the armed forces?
A
- The army was limited to 100,000 men
- Conscription was banned
- No armoured vehicles, submarines or aircraft.
- The navy could have only six battleships
- The Rhineland became a demilitarised zone - This was the border between Germany and France.

What were the aims of the League of Nations?
A
- Was set up as an international police force
- Germany was not invited to join the league until it had shown that it was a peace-loving country.

A
- They were bitter because none of the allies were being asked or forced to disarm in the same way.
- Also, an army of 100,000 was very small for a country of Germany’s size and the army was a symbol of German pride.

What happend to the Ruhr?
A
- In 1922 nothing was paid. French and Belgian soldiers entered the Ruhr and took whatever was owed to them.
- This was legal under the terms of the ToV.
- because Germany ordered the workers to go on strike so that they were not producing anything for the french to take.
- The French killed 100 workers and expelled 100,000 protesters from the region.
