Q

What was the League of Nations?

A

The League of Nations was an international club to resolve problems peacefully. About 40 countries signed up straight away. If pne nation decided to declare war on another, all other members would stop trading with them until a lack of supllies would bring the war to an end. Countries would also work together to fight diseases, stop drug-smuggling and slavery and improve working conditions. Fewer than half the countries in the world joined and politicians in the USA voted against it.
