Prepare splint so it properfly fits patient
Gently place the splint under the patient’s forearm
Roll two triangular bandages and tie them above the wrist and below the elbow
Apply a sling to the injured arm and offer cold pack
Check CSM

Prepare splint into a boot
Gently lift the leg and place splint under the patient’s leg
Roll up two triangular bandages and tie them above ankle and below knee
Elevate leg and offer coldpack

How do you splint a femur?

Prepare a pillow/soft item
Gently put the pillow or soft item in between the patient’s legs
Roll up two triangular bandages and tie them above and below the knee
Roll up another triangular bandage and tie a figure 8 at the feet
Offer cold pack
