- Authoritarian - what I say goes - kids can end up exhibiting hostile or aggressive behaviors
- Authoritative - most positive outcomes - accept feedback from kids
- Permissive - no rules - only step in to help if needed - kids can have trouble regulating their emotions and struggle academically
- Uninvolved - parent not present - children with low self esteem and struggling in school
