- Parasite: P.falciparum, P vivax
- mosquito bourne
- High risk travellors (preg, children, immunocomprimised)
- no vaccine, can use 100mg OD doxy (up to 4 weeks after to kill parasite when they are release from hiding in the liver , atovaquone better option but $$)

Zika : 80% asymtpomatic
no specific tx or preventative tx, just supportive

Day 0 - lasts 6-12 months

booster that lasts 2-3 yrs

x3 vaccines (700 dollars)
if bitten need IG injected around wound and 4-5IM vaccines

vaccination is often to prevent international spread
single dose - life long protection
