What is the Tx of PTSD?
Trauma focused CBT *** Re-exposure to traumatic memories but must be be Theraputic Pharma: SSRI/SNRI but not as good as CBT PRAZOSIN good for nightmares! Avoid Benzos
What are good prognostic indicators for PTSD?
1) Rapid onset and Short duration
2) Rapid start of Tx
3) Early and sust Social support
4) No re-trauma
5) High level of funct pre-trauma
6) Absence of other issues
7) No subst abuse
What is the central trait of Complex PTSD?
Chronic Trauma involving totalitarian control for ext period: Hostages, POWs, Religious cults, Org sexual exploits, domestic battering, childhood sexual abuse
What are other traits of Complex PTSD?
Affect Regulation: Chronic Suicidality, self injury
Self perception: Defiled, stigmatized, unlike other people
Many symptoms in many areas
What is Acute Stress Disorder?
SAME AS PTSD
3 DAYS TO 1 MONTH FOLLOWING TRAUMA
not >1 month

Similar to PTSD
