Discuss assessment of circulation in a trauma patient
A
Level of conciousness, tachycardia and skin colour are all good clues of circulatory status
Loss of conciousness indicated at least 50% loss of blood volume
Grey tachycardic with white extremeties 30%
pink active talking limited
Aim is not to restore normal blood pressure but to attain an adquate blood pressure

A
Haemodynamically unstable patients with signs of abdominal trauma (peritonisms or expanding abdomen)
patient with pentrating trauma and evisceration or clinical signs of peritonism
