Define a single circulation system
Blood only passes through heart once for each complete circuit
Define a double circulatory system
The blood travel through heart twice in one complete circuit
What’s an closee circulatory system?
Blood is ALWAYS contained in blood vessels (mammals and fish)
What’s a open circulatory system?
Blood isn’t always contained in blood vessels for example inscects
How is the structure of an artery related to its function?
Thick and muscular with elastic tissue to withstand high pressure. Inner lining it folded to allow it to expand which also helps maintain the high blood pressure.
What’s the function of a vein?
Carry deoxygenated blood to lungs
