A

for example transferring the overarm throwing technique to throwing a javelin

A

effect of a previously learned skill hinder the learning of another

for example throwing a javelin and cricket ball because they have a similar throwing action

what is proactive transfer

A

taking a previously learned skill and using it so that it has an effect on another skill

for example using basic passing techniques in football to progress to a 40m aerial pass

what is retroactive transfer

A

current learning of a skill is having an effect on a skill that has already been learnt

for example if you stop playing cricket for a while to play golf when your return to cricket you will swing the bat like a golf club

A

skill is transferred from one side of the body to the other (limb to limb)

for example a basketball player attempting to lay up with their left hand after perfecting it with their right
