trait theory
A
- inherited or genetically predetermined qualities
which means
- the traits are stable, enduring and consistent in all situations
- personality or behaviour is generalised and predictable for example some people are always aggressive

social learning theory
A
- copying the behaviour of others and being reinforced for copying it
- copying is more likely to happen if the model is significant or their behaviour is reinforced (vicarious reinforcement)
- behaviour i learnt from the environment
behaviour is predictable if the same situation reoccurs
for example a player may adopt a positive attitude in certain situations only

A
- interaction to relationship between personality traits and the situation
- behaviour changing to the demands of the situation or environment
- a combination of trait and social learning factors
so
- typical response emerge from the combination of personality traits and the environment
- behaviour is unpredictable
