When skills already learned effect the learning of new skills
What is an example of proactive transfer?
Throwing a ball will help with an overarm volley ball serve
What is bilateral transfer?
Transferring a skill from one side of the body to the other
What is an example of bilateral transfer?
Cartwheel on the left instead of the right
What makes negative transfer likely to occur?
If the performer misunderstands the movement required
If similar but conflicting skills are taught close together
If the practice environment is different to the competition environment
