Deep draft

A

Vessels of all types transiting to/from pilot stations and anchorages in Victoria and port Angeles, to/from all ports in the puget sound and British Columbia. Deep draft vessels transiting the area generally follow the TSS in place. The strait of Juan de fuca is the main channel feeding the port of puget sound and British Columbia

Tug and tows

A

Transiting to/from all ports in puget sound and British Columbia in or near the TSS depending on destination, size and type of tow.

Ferries

A

Coho(auto and passenger) which has regularly scheduled runs between port Angeles and Victoria, seasonal passenger ferry between port angles and Victoria and high speeed catamaran passenger ferry between Seattle and Victoria

Naval and USCG

A

Vessels patrolling the area and also bound to/from many bases located through out the puget. Also to/from eastern bank naval operating area

Fishing boats

A

Commercial and recreational transiting the area. Commercial mostly follow the TSS to/from sea and recreational boats are closer to sure during openings

Pleasure boats

A

Can be found in the area but of lesser concentrations due to weather exposure though heavier concentrations in the summer months mostly bound to/from port angles and the San Juan island
