Trachte Flashcards
1
Q
Alpha 1 receptor
A
- found on smooth muscle of blood vessels
- medaites contraction to increase BP
- phenylephrine is agonist
2
Q
Alpha 2 receptor
A
- found in medulla, the GI and platelets
- inhibits NE release –> DECREASES BP
- examples are clonidine, guanfacine, alpha methyldopa, and tizanidine
3
Q
B1 receptor
A
- acts on cardiac tissue
- increases contractility –> increased BP
- dobutamine is agonist
4
Q
Beta 2 Receptor
A
- found on blood vessels and lungs
- relaxes smooth muscle through vasodilation
- decreases BP
- ex. metaproterenol, albuterol, terbutaline, ritodrine, salmeterol
5
Q
Isoproterenol
A
- acts via B1 (heart, increase BP) and B2 receptors
- affects radius via B2 more strongly –> decreases BP
- comt metabolism
- parenteral or aerosol
6
Q
Dobutamine
A
- acts via Beta 1 receptor
- increases BP
- positive inotrope (increases HR and SV)
7
Q
Norepinephrine
A
- acts on alpha 1 receptor
- vasoconstricts –> increases BP
- acts on beta 1 receptor
- increases contractility –> increases BP
8
Q
Epinephrine
A
- acts on alpha1
- vasoconstricts –> increases BP
- works as topical hemostat
- acts on beta 2
- vasodilates –> decreases BP
- use to restore heart beat
9
Q
Indirect sympathomimetics that release NE from nerve
A
- Inhibits axoplasmic pump
- cocaine, imipramine, nicotine
- Reverses axoplasmic pump
- amphetamine, ephedrine, sudafed
