Q

What is actual navigation performance?

A
  • It is the FMC’s estimated max position error with a 95% probability. It means that the FMC is 95% certain that the aircrafts actual position lies within a circle with a radius if the ANP value around the FMC position.

Q

If a secondary engine limit is exceeded in flight how is the crew notified?

A

The blanked lower DU will come up, individual warnings are then displayed on each parameter, either in red, amber or contrast inverted

16
Q

During cruise where is the CTBR?

A

Closed

17
Q

What could cause BLEED TRIP OFF, how to restore?

A

Overtemp or over pressure, iaw the QRH press the trip reset

18
Q

Which duct is external (pneumatic) air connected?

A

The right bleed air manifold (don’t confuse with pre conditioned air)

19
Q

What is the thrust limit with DUAL BLEED on and why?

A

Not above idle on the engines to avoid over back pressure damaging the APU

20
Q

With bleed off what do engine and wing TAI do?

A

Engine TAI stays on, wing TAI goes off

21
Q

EDP on system B (right engine) springs a leak, how is system preserved?

A

It isnt, both EDP B and EMDP B feed from the same stand pipe so system B will run dry with a down stream leak in either.
However. There is a stand pipe in hyd resevoir B to preserve fluid for the PTU.

22
Q

Do mechanical controls from both control wheels attach to the same thing?

A

No, Capt’s roll is connected to ailerons, FOs to spoilers, both wheels connected together. If there’s a jam on one side the other respective control surfaces will move. (but NB spoilers always need hyd A or B pressure)

23
Q

FEEL DIFF PRESS?

A

Comes on with 30 sec of differential (>25%) between hyd A and B pressure. Will come on and cause a MC 30 secs after you swx on the ELEC 1 hyd pump pre start (as the ELEC 2 remains off until bypass pin confirmed)

24
Q

How are STS and mach trim controlled?

A

By the AP FCCs, even if AP not engaged

25
Q

What is the function of the stab trim override swx on the aft electrics panel?

A

Reverse electric trim is inhibited (ie cant trim up while pressing forward), this override switch allows reverse trim (should someone slump fwd on the controls allows the other person to trim back)

26
Q

When does electric and AP trim speed change?

A

Flap not up = hi speed
Flap up = low speed

27
Q

What does auto slat do in ref to a stall?

A

Any time the LE slats are extended (1/2) and approaching stall is detected they are moved to fully extended
(SPF this is in flap 1-25)
(Non SPF this is in flap 1-5)

28
Q

What happens when you select alt flap to ARM?

A

Closes TE flap bypass valve, activates stby hyd pump and arms the alt flap swx

29
Q

Normal LVP criteria?

A

200ft ceiling and 800m RVR

30
Q

What are the criteria for the LGTU to work?

A
  • Airborne
  • no 1 eng fail
  • gear handle up
  • EITHER main leg not locked up
31
Q

Is anti-skid available with altn or accumulator braking

A

Yes, but works on pairs of wheels on altn. Reverts to individual wheels with accumulator as it is back through the normal (hyd B) valves

32
Q

When do auto brakes come on?

A

Both TLs at closed and main wheels >60 kts

33
Q

What causes a COWL ANTI ICE amber?

A

Overpressure only

34
Q

What happens if you select wing TAI on the gnd?

A

Slat temp is monitored to prevent overheating, the TAI will cycle on and off to maintain temp and the blue valve lights will switch bright to dim and cycle

35
Q

Selecting eng TAI off, the valve stays bright blue, what does this mean?

A

Valve not shut, if >10 deg TAT limit that engine to 80% N1 if possible
