Mom: LAD or asymptomatic
Baby: Triad = Chorioretinitis, Hydrocephalus, Intracranial Calcifications
Rubella
Trans: Air Droplets
Mom: LAD, arthritis
Baby: PDA, “white pupil” cataracts, deafness, blueberry muffin rash
CMV
Trans: Sex contact, organ transplant, blood transfusions
Mom: Infectious Mono
Baby: Deafness, seizures, petechial rash, blueberry muffin rash
Herpes
Trans: Skin or mucous membrane contact
Mom: Vesicular rash
Baby: Encephalitis and vesicular rash
HIV
Trans: Sexual contact, needlestick
Mom: low T cell counts
Baby: Recurrent infxn, chronic diarrhea
Syphilis
Trans: Sexual contact
Mom: 1* Chancre, 2* disseminated rash
Baby: Stillbirth, hydrops fetalis; if survives: CN VIII deafness, facial deformities (saddle nose, saber shins, notched hutchinson teeth)
Group B Strep, Ecoli, Listeria
Neonatal meningitis
