Xerostomia is..

A

Excessively dry oral cavity

Hypo-salivation

Primary caused from: decreased salivary production. (lesion or tumor possibly)

Secondary: Medication induced. ACh, dopamine increase.

  • Siogrens syndrome
  • Blockage of ducts
  • Radiation damage
  • Type II DM
  • Psychiatric issues
