- Unintended consequences: Reform turned to plurality. Doctrinal disagreement>Doctrinal pluralism>doctrinal relativism
- Religious intolerance > secular political order
- Polarisation of religious concerns > undermined concern for religion
- Post enlightenement West did not replace or overthrow but Marginalised Christianity.
