Bi-variate Data
When you collect information about two separate characteristics for the same person,thing or event.
Explanatory value
The independent variable can also be called the explanatory value.
Response Variable
The dependent Variable can also be called The response variable.
Association
Patterns and Relationships can also be called an association.
Linear Association
Occurs when the points on a scatter plot seem to form a line.
Positive association
Two variables have a positive association if, as the explanatory variable increases The response variable increases.
Negative association
Two variables have a negative association if, As the explanatory variable increases, the response variable Decreases.
Outlier?
A point that varies greatly from overall pattern, or goes beyond the guidelines of the data.
Line of best fit
A line that is as close to as many points as possible but doesn’t have to go through all the points.
Model And Trend line
When you use a line of best fit, the line and it’s equation are often called model or Trend line.
Interpolating
Predicting values that fall within the plotted values.
Extrapolating
Predicting values that fall outside the plotted values.
