How do catholics interpret the genesis creation stories
The story of the creation of the world is a myth meaning it conveys deeper truths and shouldn’t be taken literally.

God is creator

We should only worship this God
The world is special as it’s been created by God so should been cared and looked after

What does genesis 1:27 mean (quote about God creating humans in his image)
Humans share the same qualities with God so humans can have a closer relationship with God
What does it mean by God is transcendent ( 3 meanings)
God only needs his own world to create and that God is completely above and beyond the created world
God is beyond human understanding so can’t be described by words or understood by the human mind

What does it mean by God is omnipotent
God has the power to do whatever he wants and he can create things from nothing.
Belief in Gods omnipotence inspires peoples trust from God as they know he has the power to do anything

Saying God is powerful he can make everything exactly the way he wants it.
