What is the limbic system responsible for?

A structure in the limbic system responsible for recognising emotion and creating a response.

An experiment where a woman’s amygdala was electrically stimulated, and she became threatening and verbally abusive until the current was removed.

Laboratory experiment- a lot of control over variables, reliable and can be repeated exactly,
Has useful applications eg. Age restrictions
Weaknesses of A&D study
Psychology students may have guessed aim despite cover story and Acted differently
Unrealistic- not in home environment and may act differently again
Ethical guidelines such as informed consent violates- may have causes stress or upset among participants
What is the limbic system?
The emotional area of the brain, emotional disorders linked to limbic damage.
