  • Genera: Orthohepadna-, Avihepadnavirus genus.
  • Morphology: Circular ss/dsDNA, enveloped capsid.
  • Resistance: Weak (low pH)
  • Biological properties:
    Baltimore VI or VII (Replication with reverse transcription).
    Stenoxen virus.
    Chronic.
  • Antigenic properties:
    HBsAg - protective
  • Diagnosis:
    ELISA direct or indirect:
    1) Orthohepadnavirus genus – Human hepatitis B.
    2) Avihepadnavirus genus – Duck hepatitis B.
