  • The anarchist CNT took control and implemented an anarchist revolution
  • CNT abolished the government
  • Collectivisation; around 70%of Barcelona’s industry and 2,000 businesses were collectivised, transport and churches were turned into taxi’s and hospital’s
  • Elected management committees set up to set wages and working hours

A
  • rural Aragon was collectivised - democratic committees organised production, defence and distribution
  • Some areas where money was abolished and replaced with vouchers
  • August 1937, central government defeated the Anarchists
