Topic 1.4 Enzynes Flashcards
What is a catalyst
It changes the rate of reaction without being used it’s self so it can be used over and over again
Instracella enzymes
Are in animal and plants and can be found in DNA polymerase and DNA ligase
Extracellar enzymes
Secrete other enzymes can effect the boundaries of the cell membrane and can be found in tysozyme the enzyme found in tears
Specificity
The characteristics of an enzyme
Anabolic reaction
Builds up new molecules in a cell
Catabolistic reaction
Which breaks down substrates in a cell
Metabolism
Anabolic and catabolic process in the cell membrane
Metabolic chain
Series linked reaction in the metabolism of a cell
Interacellar Enzyme
That catalyse reaction with in a the cell
Extracellular enzyme
Catalyse reaction outside the cell in which they are made
Induced
The active site is consider to have a more flexible shape. Once the product left the complex enzyme reverts to its inactive reactive relaxed form
Internal rate of reaction
Measure taken to control reactions under different conditions
Molecur activity ( turnover numbers)
The number of substance molecules transformed per minute by a single enzyme molecule
Temperature coefficient
Is the measure the efficient of temperature on the rate of reaction
Reservable inhabitantion
It didn’t permanently changed the enzyme and it’s the most common
Competitive inhabitation
Simular shape to the substrate molecule it competed with the substrate for the active site as they are competing for the same active site
Non-competition inhabitation
It does not compete for the active site
Irreversible inhabitation
Permanent convalent bonds and coccusmkre slowly. Poisons are irreversible inhabitation on enzymes systems
Enzyme inhabitation
The substrate that slow down enzyme or stop them from working
Reversible inhabitation
The action of the enzyme by a inhabitation that does not permanently affect the functioning of the body enzyme
Irrersable inhabitation
Tbis is permanent and can not be undone
Allosertic enzyme
Have a seperate site to the active site which another molecule can bind to.
End- producing inhibition
Control system in many metabolic pathway with an enzyme at the beginning of the pathway is inherited by the end of the product of the reaction
