A

Death is not the end; It is the natural step in the lifecycle, death is really a rebirth, after death you enter a new world like the current one so you are buried with everything you will need belief that the human soul was comprised of five elements ( you don’t need to know that)

What are some of the beliefs about the underworld in Egypt?

A

Before the dead could reach the afterlife they first have to pass judgment in the underworld. Anubis the guardian of the underworld greet the dead in the hall of Maat with her soul would be judged. Anubis would weigh the dead’s heart against the feather on the scales to see if Maat are worthy of crossing over into the afterlife. if the dead’s heart proved unworthy it would be sent to the demon dog and the dead body and soul would be left vulnerable to the demons of the underworld.

What did the Egyptian believe about afterlife?

A

After life is short through a three-step process; mummification of the body, placing the mummified body in a tomb with the deceased name on it, having a funeral.food or drink was then offered to those who were not able to attend the funeral.they placed objects in the tombs to make sure that the dead had things that they would need in the afterlife.

Steps of mummification

A

Internal organs were removed first they were stored in jars the second step was letting the body dry in the sun and soaking it in natron then they wrapped it with linen and put it in the tombs
