The Fertile Crescent is Mesopotamia it is called this because it is good for growing crops even though it is called arid as in dry.it is half-moon shaped

In Greek the land between the rivers between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.also called the cradle of civilization.

These rivers flood once a year leaving a thick layer of silt this is good it allows farmers to grow food surpluses

Priests originally ruled the city states and collected taxes they believe that God’s bless their crops and were in charge of their growth

Overtime military rulers replaced priest they replace them because of the fighting going on they could command cities city soldiers during war

Sumer’s faded away because of farming and irrigation problems solved had gotten into the irrigation from the Persian sea killing their plants

Babylon’s ruler been conquered all of southern Mesopotamia and made the individual City states into an empire called Babylonia.it became one of the largest cities in the world with over 200,000 people

Eventually Babylon crumbles and they’re a Syrian empire in northern Mesopotamia took over
