Oral texts
a connected stretch of langauge that is usally londer than a stence.
It ecorperates four different types of talk: exploratory, conversational, dialogic, presentational.
Oral texts help to communicate effectively with a variety of purposes for a range of audiences.
GRRM
Example informative presentation
-show and tell a toy (ACELY 1656/7)
modelled - think alouds, short and explicit, teacher models using talking frames and visual cues alongside vocab wall to demonstrate expectations.
Shared - students in groups, teacher begins group work by prompting using talking frames, stduents each have a turn in their groups of three, using the prompt to inform their audience. contunie this thorugh each sentence starter/talkng frame.
Guided - less teacher guides, students are encouraged to independently use their talking frames and expand of their initial desription of their toy. teacher asks students to recite what a gruoup member described, standing in their group when speaking. teacher is listening to support and probvide feedback.
independant - allow students to present their toy in front of the class, less reliance on talking frames and sentences starters. teacher provides feedback.
