What is the process and uses of Vacuum forming?
Process: Heat a piece of plastic, which is then pulled by the vacuum to form around the shape or mould.
Uses: To shape plastics.
What is the process and uses of Blow moulding?
Process: A tube of softened plastic is fed into a hollow mould. The plastic is pinched at the bottom so it can be filled with warm air and inflates to fill the mould.
Uses: Plastic bottles.
What is a prototype?
Is a representation of a product before it is produced in any quantity.
What is a batch production?
It is used to make consistent products.
What is a continuous production?
Is used for manufacturing many household chemicals and will be on 24 hours an day 7 days a week.
What is a Just in Time production?
Focuses on produces exactly the amount you need at exactly the time your customers need it. An example of this production is a car manufacturer.
What is Tesselation?
Created when a shape is repeated over and over again covering a plane without any gaps or overlaps.
What is Nestling?
Automatically fit irregular shapes as close together as possible.
What is a production line?
An arrangement in a factory in which a thing being manufactured is passed through a set linear sequence of mechanical or manuel operation.
