Tool Panels

A

On the left side of the screen, the tool panel is used to do the work. On the right are tool options for the selection on the left.

CHANGE DISPLAYED TOOLS on left using the … at the bottom of the panel. Use the menu top right of tool display options to switch between a basic or advanced tool panel, or create a new toolbar or manage toolbars.

Tab Key

A

Hides and reveals the tool panels on both sides.

Shift tab hides and reveals only the right tool panel.

Bounding Box

A

The frame that surrounds a drawn object such as a sphere.

Turn it on/off using VIEW > HIDE BOUNDING BOX or shift+ctrl+B

Arrow Selection Tools

A

The first two tools on the left tool panel shaped as arrows.

Black arrow = V = complete selection
White arrow = A = anchor point selection. Allows manipulation of object by moving anchor points.

Magic Wand Selection Tool

A

Selects all objects with the same color.

Wand and stars = Y = selects objects with the same color.

Lasso Selection Tool

A

Drawing over objects to set anchor points on multiple objects.

Lasso with white arrow = Q

draw over the places you want anchor points. Activate direct select (A). Drag a solid anchor point. Will pull each selected.

A

While another tool is active, press ctrl to activate the Direct Select tool for use.
