Torx drivers
For driving torx screws, a screwhead pattern that uses a six-pointed star and sometimes a bump in the center for additional tamper proofing. Six points of contact.
Hex drivers
For driving hex screws, a screwhead pattern that uses a hexagon. Simple driver tool and six points of contact.
Hemostat clamps
A stand-in for tweezers. Useful for inserting and removing jumper blocks and cables. Think “surgeon’s scissor clamps”
Multimeter
Measure DC and AC voltage levels, resistance in Ohms, continuity, amperage, diodes.
Power supply tester
Tests power supply operation without the need to install the power supply in a system.
Loopback plug
Checks for correct input/output from serial, parallel, network, and USB ports.
Cable tester
Checks cable continuity and twisted-pair configuration
Punch down tools
Use for installation of UTP cable into a wall jack.
Toner probes
Used to determine the patch panel port that matches a particular network wall socket.
Crimper
Attaches connectors to cable
Toner vacuum
Required to vaccum the super small toner particles out of laser printers.
