alternative to centor

Purulence
Attended within 3 days
Inflamed tonsils
No cough or coryza
management
educate its likely viral and safety net
analgesia
prescribe abx if
- pain still there after 3 days or fever >38.3
- centor 3 or more
- feverPAIN 4 or more
penicillin V (phenoxymethylpenicillin) for 10 days
- clarithromycin if penicillin allergic
