Q

How do you write an explanatory paragraph concerning whether a piece if formal or informal writing?

A

You begin by stating whether the piece is informal or formal. This is very important, as if you do not say this, you will get zero.
You start your second sentence with, “The author used”. After this introduction, you say they either used or did not use one of the things that make a piece formal or informal. After stating which tool they used, quote an example directly from the paragraph. You start your third sentence much the same way, with, “The author also used”, then you state which tool they used, and give an example. Give about four explanations. The tool and the example must be written in the same sentence, otherwise you don’t get any marks.
