Ex. 1 - Wanting to go back to childhood years

Pedantic
Word used to describe someone who annoys others by correcting small errors, caring too much about minor details, or emphasizing their own expertise
Ex. 1 - Someone boring a group of people talking about the origin and details of a pottery piece
Ex. 2 - Correcting someone because of their improper grammar
Trite
Lacking the freshness that evokes attention or interest
Ex. 1 - A dialogue that had everyone yawning in minutes
Ex. 2 - Can even be cliche
Contemptuous
Manifesting, feeling, or expressing deep hatred or disapproval
Ex. 1 - The waiter smiled contemptuously at anyone who didn’t know which wine to order
Ex. 2 - He was bullied at school and treated contemptuously by his stepfather
Sardonic
Adjective describing dry, understated, and sort of mocking speech or writing
Ex. 1 - A comedian’s sneering jokes about a specific group of people that he wants to criticize
Ex. 2 - More extreme and negative than sarcastic
Benevolent
The objective is to help individuals improve their lives and often involves providing useful information to others
Ex. 1 - Helping others
Ex. 2 - Being warm and friendly
Effusive
Marked by the expression of great or excessive emotion or enthusiasm
Ex. 1 - Someone explaining something they are really interested in
Ex. 2 - Being extremely happy
Compassionate
An emotional response to the suffering of others
Ex. 1 - Seeing someone in trouble and wanting to help
Ex. 2 - Seeing someone sad and wanting to cheer them up
