muscle imbalance from spinal malalignment
Functional Limitations
eating (soft, hard), biting, laughing, smiling, yawning, talking, shouting, chewing on L and R/ both
Partial Edentulism
loss of one or more teeth causing others to shift to fill the space leading to malalignment
Bruxism
grinding/ clenching of teeth especially when sleeping
headaches in the morning
hypertrophy
facial, jaw, or tooth pain
Periodontist
specializes in the study of tissues around the teeth and diseases
Orthodontist
correction or prevention of irregularities of teeth (retainers, invisaligns, etc.)

treatment of diseases of tooth pop, root canal, and perapical areas

Underbite
mandibular teeth in buccoversion (lie anterior to maxilla)
Overbite
maxillary teeth extend to anterior mandibular teeth
Normal Dental Occlusion
small overbite (1-2 mm); most common position
Overjet
distance between maxillary incisors to mandibular incisors when the jaw is closed (2-3 mm)
