describe how to carry out a titration

• using a pipette put 25cm3 acid into a conical flask with a suitable indicator
• place conical flask on a white tile so colour change can be seen
• read level on burette at bottom of meniscus
• slowly add alkali drop by drop swirling as you go
• stop when first permanent colour change is seen and record volume of alkali added
• repeat until you have concordant results
