What is an infundibulum?
The portion above the point where the sebaceous gland enters
How do melanocytes release melanin?
Melanocytes release melanin in melanosomes.
They form granules and travel to keratinocytes
The granules cover the nucleus of the keratinocytes and protect the dna
What does the outer cuticle of hair contain?
Lots of keratinocytes and an inner medulla
What is found in the hair bulb?
Germination cells and melanocytes
What is the embryology of the hair?
Epidermis = hair shaft
Dermis =papilloma and blood vessels
What are the 3 payees of hair growth?
Anagen = growing phase Catagen = resting phase Telogen = fall out phase
Where do nails grown from?
The nail matrix
What makes the nails looks pink?
The dermal capillaries
What is the hyponychium?
Thick epidermis that is under the nail plate= in the outside
