Tissue And Organ Flashcards
Tissue
A group of cells with similar functions working together.
Organs
Organs are a group of several tissues working together for a specific function.
Types of tissue
Muscular tissue, to churn up food a digestive juices of the stomach together
Glandular tissue, to produce the digestive juices which break down the food
Epithelial tissue, this covers the inside and outside of the organ
Organ systems
Organ systems are groups of organs that all work together to perform specific functions. The organs in the system depend on each other. Examples are the gas exchange system, digestive system and the circularity system.
Levels of organisation
Multicellular organisms have many levels of organisation. They are: cell, tissues, organs, organ systems and make up an organism
