Wars with false prophets. Including Musailma, Tulayha, Sajjah, Aswad Ansi, Malik bin Nuwairah. Musailma was defeated in the Battle of Yamama in which Ikrama bin Abu Jahl did not wait for Shurahbeel bin Hasanah and so both battalions were getting badly defeated and had to write to the Caliph for reinforcements which came under the head of Khalid bin Waleed. The battle is also know as the Battle of the Garden of Death since it took place in a fortified garden and there were many deaths. Among those who killed Musailma was Wahshi. War with Tulayha was a war with all his allies, the tribes of Banu Asad, Tay and Ghatfan. Tulayha encamped at the Bazakha spring in Nejd. Khalid bin Waleed was sent to defeat him and Adi bin Hatim from the tribe of Tay requested him to wait for 3 days so he could try to show the right path to his tribesmen. This resulted in a 1000 men from Tay and Jadeela joining Khalid. Tulayha was defeated and fled to Syria, later he became Muslim and tried to compensate for past sins by serving in campaigns during Umar’s time. Sajjah was marching towards Madinah and came across Musailmah and married him, after his murder, she lived in obscurity and when Iraq was conquered, accepted Islam with her tribesmen. Aswad Ansi attacked Sanaa, Yemen’s capital and married the governor’s wife after killing him, then the Prophet wrote to leaders of the Muslim army in Yemen and they defeated him with assistance from his new wife. In Abubakr’s time, Aswad’s governor Qais restarted trouble and took over Yemen. 2 battalions of Muslims were sent to subdue him. He was defeated and repented along with his governor Amr bin Maadi. Malik bin Nuwairah was the tax collector of his area but gave the Zakat back to his tribesmen saying that the money was theirs. He attacked the Muslims in his area and was later defeated and killed by Khalid’s army.
