When one person hadn’t written a will
- Aemilia Musa died intestate, her property was claimed for the emperor, he transferred to Marcus Aemilius Lepidus whose house she was apparently connected.
When Tiberius was named as an heir
- A rich knight died and Tiberius was named as heir, an earlier authentic will was found naming someone else as sole heir, handed over the whole property
