resolve within minutes, by 24 hours onset max.

what is TIA considered?
A
brain attack! portion of brin is ischemic and ptoentially reversible blood flow condition. if not restored, ischiemic tissue leads to cerebral infarct.

diagnostics for TIA?
A
MRI best for ischemic stroke
CT or MR angiography - can sho stenosis or occlusion in brain supplying vessels.
cartid US, ecocardio, cerebral angiogram can help rule out contition or find srouce of blood clot.

TX?
A
ASA
ASA + ER dipyridamole
second line - plavix
if comes from cardiac emboli - warfarin 2-3 INR goal
