What labs may you order for a pt with hypothyroidism?
A
TSH
Lipid (can be very high)
Thyroglobulin

what is the tx for hypothyroidism?
what are ADRs to that tx?
A
Levothyroxine 1.6mcg/kg, take on empty stomach
ADR: tachycardia, ↓bone density, psych sx (anxiety, irritability)

when do you F/u with a pt with hypothyroidism?
Pt education?
A
f/u: 6-8 wks
Tx is lifelong
