Cranial aspect to the spine of the scapula
Where is the infraspinous fossa?
Caudal aspect to the spine of scapula
Where is the acromion found? In what animals is it not present?
Enlarged Distal end of spine; not on the horse scapula
What is the bony landmark of the elbow?
Olecranon of the Ulna
What is the styloid process of the ulna?
Distal Tapering of ulna
Participates in antebrachiocarpal jt.
Attaches to short lateral collateral ligament of carpus
What muscles encapsulate the shoulder scapular region?
Supraspinatus
Infraspinatus
Subscapularis
Supraspinatus m & fx?
Cranial Lateral scapula
P: Fills supraspinous fossa and scapular spine
D: Greater tubercle of humerus
Fx: Extend shoulder, stabilizer
Infraspinatus m & fx?
Caudal Lateral scapula
P: Fills infraspinous fossa
D: Lateral Greater tubercle of humerus
Fx: Flex shoulder, stabilizer
Subscapularis m. & fx?
Medial scapula
P: subscapular fossa
D: Lesser tubercle of humerus
Fx: Adduct and extend shoulder, stabilizer
Rhomboideus m. & fx?
Extrinsic- not apart of limb
P: dorsal median raphe
D: Dorsal scapula
Fx: Limb elevation, shrug
