Q

BLT: upper thoracics, supine
Dx: T1-T3 NSlRr
Tx: T2 NSlRr

A

Pt supine w/ doc at head
support pt’s head w/ left hand and reach under neck, placing pad of a finger on left transverse process of dysfunctional segment
rotate right and sidebend left to point of BLT
find if inspiration or inspiration is better and have pt hold in whichever pos
repeat until best motion obtained
recheck

Q

BLT: lower thoracic, seated
Dx: T4-T12 NSlRr
Tx: T8 NSlRr

A

Pt seated w/ doc behind
using right thumb, contact right TP of lower vertebra of dysfunctional unit (T9)
using left thumb, contact L TP of T8
have pt lean back at hips to est firm contact, then have them sit up
have pt lean a little to the left and turn to the right
test respiratory phases
repeat until best motion obtained
