Operative Rib Fixation
A
Currently potential indications for operative fixation include flail segment, rib fracture nonunion, pain refractory to conventional pain management strategies, chest wall deformity, and during thoracotomy performed for other traumatic indication. First rib fracture is not an indication for operative fixation.
