Thermochemistry Flashcards
describe exothermic and movement of heat
it is when heat is released/ decreases + when enthalpy change is negaitve
describe endothermic and movement of heat
It is when heat is absorbed/ increases + when enthalpy change is positive. It breaks attractions
calculate energy change ( kj) - given m and M
1) Find n with given m and M
2) Find how much 1 mol of _ gives out by dividing it by total change.
3) Times n with 1 mol of energy to cancel the mol and just get kj
calculate mass needed to release energy - given M only
1) Find N to find M
2) Using kj they give plus change in enthalpy kjmol -> divide ( ethalpy over the given) to find n (mol)
3) Make it m = n x M and sub to solve for m
