Thermal energy required practicle the beaker one Flashcards
Equipment needed
one beaker one larger than the other water kettle cardboard piece with a hole in it thermometer insulating material
What are the steps until the water…
Place a smaller beaker in the middle in the larger beaker
Use keetle to heat water
pour 80 cm qubed of hot water in the smaller beaker
What are the steps from pouring water to the rest
Place the cardboard with the hole
Place the thermometer in the hot water through the cardboard hole( the bulb of the thermometer mudt be touching the hot water- because what s the point- i know you have to be precise because the examinars have some learning disabilities)
Record starting temperature of water and start a stopwatch
Record the temp every three min until 15 min
What is the last stage of the experiment?
We repeat the experiment but place insulating material around the smaller beaker
Independent variable for this experiment
type of insulating material
The dependent variable for this experiment
Temperature
Control variable for this experiment
Volume of water
mass of insulating material ]starting temperature
The more insulating material
the more slowly it will become colder
