The athlete contracts their quad and pulls their leg upward until they feel a stretch in their hamstring. Therapist then applies slight overpressure. Patient isometrically contracts their hamstring for a set time before relaxing and contracting their quad to pull the hamstring into a further stretch.

The therapist applies slight pressure while the athlete contracts their hamstring slowly bringing their leg downward. The athlete then contracts their quad bringing their leg back up until they feel a stretch in their hamstring. The therapist applies slight over pressure and the movement is repeated.
