Theory & Values Flashcards
Scrum is founded on …
(beruht sich auf …)
Empiricism and Lean Thinking
What is Empiricism?
=> knowledge comes from experience
=> making decisions based on what is observed.
What is Lean Thinking?
=> reduces waste and focuses on the essentials
What are the 3 Pillars (Säulen) of Scrum?
Transparency
=> emergent process & work must be visible to those performing, as well as those receiving the work
=> One of the jobs of the Scrum Master is to detect incomplete transparency
Inspection
=> timely checks on the progress towards a sprint goal to detect undisirable variences
=> Inspection enables adaptation.
Adaption
=> adjusting a process or materials asap, to minimize any further deviation (Abweichung) or issues
=> A Scrum Team is expected to adapt the moment it learns anything new through inspection
What are the 5 Values of Scrum?
Commitment
=> If one succeeds, all succeed; If one fails, all fail
Courage
* need to get out of your comfort zone (tough problems)
* Having a growth mindset
Focus
* Working on what is more important first
* No one can get in the way of the Scrum Team and make them work on stuff other than what has been planned for the Sprint
Openness
* Good teamwork (asking and offering help)
* sometimes admit that the wrong decision was taken and that the team must change the way of working
Respect
* knowing that people are doing their best, giving them autonomy, assuming that they are skilled enough and have good intentions and recognizing that they have different backgrounds, personalities and abilities
Which approach does Scrum employ?
(mit welchem Ansatz beschäftigt sich Scrum?)
Scrum employs an iterative, incremental approach to optimize predictability and to control risk.
Iterativ: Wiederholend
Incremental: Schrittweise erhöhend
