A
Language used which is specific to a certain area, e.g. ‘wings’, ‘lighting ring’ and ‘revolve’ are all pieces of jargon used in theatre.

A
The structure of power within an institution.

What is phatic conversation?
A
Conversation which fulfils a social function. Sometimes referred to as ‘small talk’.

A
The language of law. A highly Latinate language and often very opaque to non-legal workers.
