Q
MARXISM
A
- They’re anti capitalist and anti establishment. They believe society enslaves people and capitalism creates conflict between the bourgeoisie (rich upper class at the top) and the proletariat (working class). The whole social system is centered around the exploration of the proletariat by the bourgeoisie.
- The proletariat are exploited because their labour is worth way more than their wages and the bourgeoisie (who employ them in factories, mines, shops, offices, banks etc) keep the profit for themselves. Society is organised around the bourgeoisie becomes richer and the proletariat barely survive.
- The bourgeoise are a minority in society whilst the proletariat out number them. The bourgeoisie claim power by promoting their interests through institutions which they control such as education, religion, media and the government. An example of this is the government suggests benefit owners are lazy. This benefits them because they make inequalities in wealth seem fair and justified. This makes the proletariat develop false class consciousness (unaware that they’re being controlled).
