What is Stuart Hall’s reception theory?
A
- preferred / dominant reading = producer of the media text picks how they want the audience to view the text
- oppositional reading = the audience create their own meaning for the text and they ignore the preferred reading that the producer was trying to portray.
- negotiated reading = in between the two readings , allows the preferred reading and accepts the producer views but also has views of their own.
